Luggage on a FlixTrain
With FlixTrain, one carry-on bag and one small luggage item are already included in your ticket price. Want to bring more? No problem! You can easily add additional luggage during the booking process or afterwards right here. On this page, you’ll find all the important information about traveling with luggage on FlixTrain.

Additional Luggage
More luggage? No problem!
For a small additional fee, you can add one more piece of luggage to your booking. Please make sure it does not exceed the maximum dimensions as shown in the image.

Special Luggage
What is special luggage?
Any items that exceed the size limits for additional luggage are considered special luggage. This includes large musical instruments, sports equipment, etc.
Can I transport special luggage on FlixTrain?
For safety reasons, special luggage items are not permitted in the onboard luggage compartments (e.g. the racks above your seat). To accommodate special luggage, it is necessary to reserve an extra seat, which can easily be added during the booking process.
How to book an extra seat:
- Select it during the booking process
- Add it later via Manage My Booking
- Book on site at our FlixShops or through one of our official ticket partners
Strollers
How many strollers can I take with me?
You can bring one stroller per passenger per child. Please note that only foldable strollers are allowed. Foldable strollers are to be stowed in a manner that does not affect other passengers.
How much does it cost?
Strollers are transported for free.
Wheelchairs / Walking Aids
You must inform us by phone about your wheelchair and/or walking aid no later than 36 hours before departure. Please also notify us if you require assistance when boarding the train.
If you are traveling in a wheelchair or with a walking aid, please read through our Persons with Reduced Mobility page before your trip.
Animals
Am I allowed to bring my pet on board?
Regulation for FlixTrain rides in Germany:
Pets are only allowed on FlixTrain; they are not allowed on any connecting trips with the FlixBus.
Small pets: Small pets are transported free of charge. You may take small living pets that are up to the size of a house cat. They cannot be dangerous and must be carried in suitable, stable containers. The containers must be designed in such a way that they do not adversely affect people and property. Pets are not to be transported on passenger seats.
Large pets: Pets that cannot be placed in handbag-sized containers may only be transported on the train if they are on a leash and are wearing a muzzle. You will also need to purchase a travel ticket at the child price. When accommodating your pet, please do so to the best of your knowledge and ability.
Service animal: Your service dog can travel for free after registration in advance and upon presentation of an official/medical certificate stating that their presence is required at all times. Please also see our Persons with Reduced Mobility page for more information.

Pets are not allowed on FlixTrain, except for guide/companion dogs.
